摘要

The purpose of this research is to design a quantization table that realizes high quality reconstructed image when we compress the image with Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) algorithm. The image quality is controlled by the quantizationtable. Therefore, if high quality image is obtained, we use a quantization table that fits the characteristics of the image. It is proposed to divide the characteristics of the image into three classes by the constitution ratio of the frequencycomponent, and to select a quantization table suitable for the image within the prepared three tables. Thus, it is obtained better results than JPEG algorithm.
