Preparation and Characterization of Styrene/Butylacrylate Encapsulation Droplets Containing Fe_3O_4 Particles

摘要

Encapsulation droplets containing Fe_3O_4 particles, which is the predecessor of toner, are obtained by suspension and miniemulsion copolymerization. Influences of size of Fe_3O_4 and effects of different ways of polymerization on the micro-appearance have been discussed. Characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), and particle-size analyzer, the results of the encapsulation droplets containing Fe_3O_4 particles show that the one prepared by miniemulsion copolymerization meets basically the need to be the predecessor of toner of commercial uses in terms of the particle morphology and the particle size distribution, while the one prepared via suspension copolymerization has a wide distribution of particle size and irregularly micro-appearance.
