During various pullout tests of steel fibres with hooked, their bonding behaviour has been investigated. This is of major importance as it governs the behaviour of steel fibre reinforced concrete after matrix failure. The tests have been carried out on specimens with straight as well as with hooked fibres in a concrete and in a transparent matrix. Additionally, the failure was monitored by means of acoustic emission. Thus, the influence of fibre-matrix adhesion, and the contribution of the fibre geometry to the total stress absorbed by the fibre could be clarified.
