摘要
The thread, and especially sewing thread, is formed by one component which is a multifilament forming most of the core and a spun fibre second component bonded into the first component. As the thread is being worked, the fibres of the second component are hooked and the hooked fibres are drawn outwards from the bonded thread. The first component is at least one multifilament composed of 16-300 monofilaments, and pref. 24-96. The first component is of high tensile multifilament fibres such as polyamide, carbon, glass, silicate, aramide, polyethylene and/or polypropylene. The polyethylene is gel spun. The staple fibres of the second component are of polyester, polyamide-6, polyamide 6.6 and/or polyacryl nitrile. The two thread components are eddied together. The spun thread has a total thickness of 50-500 dtex, and pref. 80-300 dtex. The mass ratio of the first to the second component is 90:10 to about 50:50, and pref. between 80:20 to 60:40. The separate fibres of the second component have a staple length of 20-180 mm, and pref. 70-120 mm. ADVANTAGE - The thread has a very high strength profile, to withstand the forces imposed while it is being worked. (0/3)
