The paper studies the commutation processes in a polyphase rectified output DC generator by analytical method. The machine comprises a mesh connected even or odd number of phase armature winding, connected with a polyphase full wave rectified bridge. It is assumed that the mutual inductances between the field winding and phase windings are sinusoidal functions of their relative positions. The commutation processes are discussed, including the number of phases in simultaneous commutation, the number of conducting diodes, the overlap angle γ and the commutation delayed angle ρ. The conductive regularities of the diodes with the load current, that is the overlap angle γ and the delayed angle ρ change with load current, are got.
