摘要

This paper presents a study on the influence of the welding force in the union of ASTM A36 steel pipe and API 6A flange through the friction welding process. The technique used to weld these components was friction welding process due to the proven advantages of this method. As the choice of the correct welding parameters is essential for the production of a sound joint, friction and forging force parameters were varied. The evaluation of the joints was performed by bending and tensile test. Microstructural analyses were also made on the weld region, thermo-mechanical affected zone and on the base materials, as well as microhardness profile.
