摘要

Control of PET preform manufacturing processes is often driven by the desire to avoid visible defects. Many visible defects plus wide weight tolerances and insulation of injection processes from stretch / blow molding processes lead to overpacked heavy preforms. This paper presents evidence, via results from designed experiments, that making the lightest preform practical from a given preform mold often opens significant opportunities for improved productivity and quality for preform and bottle manufacturing.
