Recent applications of the use of three-dimensional electrical computed tomographic methods to monitor the distribution of multiphase mixtures in mineral processes are described. The need for such detailed information to assist in the verification and further development of robust models for mineral process simulation is considered. Two examples showing the use of resistance tomography to optimize the design and operation of solid-liquid mixing and dielectric tomography applied to the control of a solids conveyor are given.
