The launch of the platinum eagle and the future of platinum bullion coin demand

1997 saw the successful launch of a newplatinum bullion coin by the U.S. Mint. The first of its kindfrom the U.S. Mint, the American Eagle program virtuallydoubled this sector of platinum demand from 1996 to 1997.This presentation will review the effects of this program on themarket, and offer an outlook for the coming year.
