摘要

We show that both the intracavity and the coherently generated power of a storage ring or linac based FEL can be controlled by suitably varying the cavity length or the e-beam energy. We prove that this mechanism can be exploited to obtain a pulsed structure of the output power and to enhance the power of the associated higher order harmonics.
