These can be an ongoing innovation program in process automation and process optimisation, but also the development of new methods in refractory lining of furnace and ladles, a very important cost factor in steel production. The Stahlwerk Bous Saar GmbH has consistently been going this single, success promising way for years, too. The Stahlwerk Bous was built in 1961 and belongs to Georgsmarienhutte Holding. The steel plant with it's 70 ton furnace nowadays is producing nearly 180.000 tons per year of round and polygonal, cylindrical, conical and the other way conical ingots for seamless tube mills and forges with diameters from 180 to 1790 mm, weights from 1,4 to 63 tons and lengths up to 4400 mm.
