The relationship with Sollac-Lorraine allowed CST to work continuously over the main process parameters that affect the production of high quality ULC steels, resulting in successive improvement of quality performance at the finishing rolling processing lines. The systematic control of refining and casting quality events allowed the development of steels with C level < 30 ppm and high cleanliness levels. The continuous quality development has allowed CST to produce slabs with superior conditions to meet the customer requirements with respect to both surface and mechanical properties, such as critical drawing and automotive exposed parts properties.
