摘要

The fusion of data coming from different sensors provides the necessary accuracy to the detection system, in spite of the complexity of the algorithms used for data treatment and the important computational effort they require. The effects of the different sources of error are minimised by fusing the results from different types of sensors. This system is accomplishing this task with very good results in Aceralia steel-making facilities in Asturias (Spain), showing that the inspection is robust and reliable. On-line detection has proved to be feasible and accurate in an industrial environment. Conoscopic Holography has shown to be a very valid tool for steel industry, not only in this case but in other measurement and detection problems.
