Cryogenic jet turbulence in gaseous ~4He around 4 K

We present recent experiments on jet turbulence. They take advantage of the use of gaseous ~4He at 4.2 K to obtain Reynolds number up to 10~6 in a 12 cm diameter cell. A universal behavior is observed in the statistical analysis of the velocity fluctuations down to the energy dissipative scales.
