The investigation of the crystallographic orientation relationship between the alpha and beta lamellae formed due to the discontinuous precipitation reaction have been performed in a Ni-4 at.percent Sn alloy. The examination has shown the existence of a definite orientation relationship: [111]_ alpha || [0001]_ beta and (220)_ alpha || (1120)_ beta . The proposed orientation relationship is preserved during the steady state period of the growth of the discontinuous precipitates which is characterized by a constant thickness of the alpha lamellae over a large growth distance.
