Electrode cokes of different grain composition (0-40 mu m, 100-320 mu m and 630-1000 mu m) were used as a charge for electrodes and test blocks. Using mentioned solid compounds graphite electrodes were produced by pressing in passage press and graphite blocks were produced in matrix (die). Anisotropy (texture) index I_(00.2)~(||)/I_(00.2)~perpendicular was calculated and grain size was measured and additionally I_(00.2)/I_(10.1) index were calculated to indicate the texture degree on particular cross sections of the graphite products. Electrode anisotropy depends on pressing method and grain composition. Electrodes obtained from solid compounds with the smallest grains were the most textured. In these electrodes with increase of grain size, anisotropy index decreases. In case of graphite blocks, grain composition does not influence on their texture.
