The saturation magnetostriction (λ{sub}s) for low magnetostrictive amorphous wires with nominal compositions Co{sub}65.25Fe{sub}4.5Si{sub}12.25B{sub}15Cr{sub}2Ni{sub}1 and Co{sub}68.15Fe{sub}2.35Si{sub}12.5B{sub}15Cr{sub}1Ni{sub}1 has beendetermined by means of the small angle magnetisation rotation method. λ{sub}s has been evaluated as +0.39×10{sup}(-6) for Co{sub}65.25Fe{sub}4.5Si{sub}12.25B{sub}15Cr{sub}2Ni{sub}1 and -l.15×l0{sup}(-6) forCo{sub}68.15Fe{sub}2.35Si{sub}12.5B{sub}15Cr{sub}1Ni{sub}1 amorphous wires in the as-cast state Changes in saturation magnetostriction after stress current annealing were also analysed.
