In previous reports, a simple method was derived to identify the approximated transfer functions of a hydraulic component as a standard second-order delay system by analyzing a self-excited oscillation. This paper discusses the application of the identification method to a hydraulic motor/load system in which the electro-hydraulic servovalve dynamic characteristics are known. The experiments on the identification of the hydraulic motor/load system are conducted by means of a self-excited angular velocity system. The resulting frequency characteristics of the identified transfer functions are then compared with those of the measured data in order to confirm coincidence.
