The Pervaporation, Performance, Prediction Software and Database (PPPS&D) computer software program is currently being developed within the United States Environmental Protection Agency's National Risk management Research Laboratory. The purpose of the PPPS&D program is to educate and assist potential users in identifying opportunities for using pervaporation technology through the use of tutorials, engineering simulation programs and pervaporation technology performance databases. The PPPS&D computer software program utilizes Clarion 4TM software, a "Windows" stle application softare that accesses information using click-on' buttons in a user friendly format. As a part of the software, EPA has developed pervaporation turotial sfotware to educate academicians and scientists on the capabilities of pervaporation technology. First, the turorial program begins with an Overview arrangement in flie folder fashion. Each folder represents one crucial aspect of educating the user on pervaporation technology. The folders are broken down into these categories; Introduction, Definitions, Background, Theory, Design Considerations, Case Stuuides and Current Status. The INtroduction begins with pervaportation advantages in industry's approach to incorporate separation technology. Next, defining the process of pervaporatioin allows the user to understand literally and illustratively the workds origin (permeate and evaporation).
