Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) have created a great deal of interest for the fabrication of gas separation membranes, due to their molecular sieving properties and good mechanical and chemical properties in comparison to other metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Recently, there have been several reports on the fabrication of ZIF- and other MOF mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs), focusing upon the changes in gas permeation properties relative to the pure polymer.
