The 'in situ' test of the 'FEBEX' project design and engineering aspects

"FEBEX" (Full Scale Engineered Barriers EXperiment in Crystalline Host Rock) is a large scale research project which is being carried out by an international consortium led by the Spanish agency ENRESA.The project includes a full-scale "In situ" Test which is currently carried out in NAGRA's underground rock laboratory at Grimsel (Switzerland).This paper is focused to the design and engineering aspects of this test.Some preliminary results are also discussed.
