The chemistry of radionuclides released to the environment is ocmplex.In biosphere modelling or waste disposal applications,concentrations are anticipated to be low and the linear,reversible k_d approach can be used.This is useful in compartmental models such as those recently involved in the BIOMOVS II Complementary Studies intercomparison exercise.
