Fuzzy logic has recently become increasingly popular in many areas of application, in some cases even more popular than it is in the area of control. This paper will demonstrate fuzzy logic's effectiveness in controlling a dynamic system. A fuzzy logic controller is presented which keeps a motorcycle upright and simultaneously guides it along a desired path. The mathematical modeling and simulation of the motorcycle and the fuzzy controller are developed using Matlab 5 and its Fuzzy Logic Toolbox and Simulink. The simulation results are discussed and observations and conclusions are made.
