Recent trends in many design and assembly/disassembly processes are that not all steps are carried out with automation machines and that some parts must be assembled/disassembled manually by hands of assembling/disassembling workers, in order to obtain shorter production cycle, shorter lead times, reduced manufacturing costs, and so on. In this paper, a method of using fuzzy-timing Petri nets is proposed to express the fuzziness of workers' work-abilities and the concurrency and synchronization of assembling/disassembling processes. This method is used to analyze the working time (performance) required to assemble/disassemble some machine parts, considering workers' abilities. An analysis example is given for analyzing the working time of assembling/disassembling machine parts. The results indicate that this method is useful as an analysis method for evaluating the working time of assembling/disassembling machine parts.
