Automatic structural wood quality assessment based on morphological properties

摘要

In this paper an automatic visual inspection system for wood structure measurement is presented. Several image operators were developed at the image enhancement and region identification levels. A new operator for contrast enhancement and histogram valley accentuation is introduced. A segmentation strategy based on a priori knowledge of morphological properties is developed for the inspection task. The system uses a reduced and intuitive set of user defined parameters, being for this reason very easy to tune.
