HivisCAS(High definition visual COmputer Aided Surgery) system

摘要

Many neurosurgeons already applies the concept of minimally invasive surgery. A surgery under steroscopic microscope, so called microsurgery, is applied in almost neurosurgical operations, because it helps accurate and delicate procedures. However, the surgeon must keep his/her eyes on the eye piece evenwhen the microscope is moved, so the posture of the surgeon is hardly restricted. Moreover, the wsurgeon must suspend the operation frequently to see the display of surgical navigator. We have proposed High definition Visual Computer Aided Surgery syste (HivisCAS) as an alternative concept for image guided surgery. Instead of showing the navigating information on a computer display, the system composes it as computer graphics to the live view of the surgical field, using a virtual reality technology.
