This paper presents theoretical features of spiralseparation, experimental and commercial approvement of spiralseparators for coal slimes preparation. It was founded that spiralseparation efficiently operates under size of coal slime particlebetween 0.1... 1.5 mm and requires preliminary desliming with ahelp of low-diameter hydrocyclones or high-frequency screens.Spiral concentrators separate materials not only by specificgravity differences but also by size particles contrast underturbulent rotational flow of coal pulp on the surface of separator.Spiral separation may turn back the wheels of technologicalhistory of coal slimes preparation from floatation to gravityunder condition of principled changing of such concentrator construction.Spiral separation allows to reduce the employment of floatationwhich is ecologically harmful. Such environmental technologymay be widely used for repreparation of coal tailings from dumpand also for dressing of primary coal slims at active coal preparation plants.
