The shape of a bounded, sound-hard cylindrical target immersed in a shallow water waveguide is retrieved from the far-field pressure observed through the water column for a single source at a single frequency. This is done within a complete family framework developed earlier in the sound-soft case: the inversion is cast as a penalized optimization problem where a contour within an admissible class is constructed by iterative minimization. Though some theoretical results are still lacking it is shown from numerical experimentation that the resulting solution algorithm works for convex and mildly concave sound-hard obstacles as fairly as in the sound-soft case provided that a good search strategy is applied.
