The preparation and application of BF-1 fatliquor

This paper reports the preparation and application of the BF-1 fatliquor made from the high acid value bone oil. The fatliquor is produced by process of acidic ester-exchange reaction and sulphation. The dynamic mechanism and optimum conditions of modified reaction have also been discussed. In the process of preparation, chemical analysis and IR technology were applied to the intermediate and product. In adddition the fatliquored leather's micro-structure was observed through optical telescope. The result of application shows that the fatliquor has excellent properties of penetrating, emulsifying and stability. The research has achieved the object of using the inferior oils and fats to produce high quality fatliquor.
