Legal Admissibility vis-a-vis Scientific Acceptability of Experts Judgements in Environmental Management

Environmental managers face the unenviable task of making decisions employing uncertain information. Expert judgements have traditionally played an important, if not crucial role, in the environmental managers' decision making. To the expent that expert judgements are used in the decision-making process, how can the decision-making process be conducted to be both scientifically acceptable as well as admissible in a legal proceedings?
