Performance of genetic algorithms for optimization of frame structures

摘要

This paper describes work carried out at the University of Wales Swansea in the ADOPT Research group on research project on design optimization of engineering structures. Two design scenarios are presented for the optimization of 2D framestructures using specially developed genetic algorithms and related procedures. Examples are provided for each of these scenarios illustrating the procedures adopted.
