Ecological restoration and conservation under sustainable development and environmental education program in two areas of the Norht of Guerrero, Mexico

Two major areas with different ecological characteristics are presented; one include aquatic (a lagoon) and land ecosystems and the other a low and thorny type deciduous forest. In the first case a productive-ecological restoration is desirable and in the second has been proposed a conservation-protection program for hte forest and the mexican coyote among others organisms; both focusing in a sustainable development model described recently by the author according to the policy and socioeconomical situation i nthe municipality of Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico. The basic problem found was the lack of an environemtnal policy, education, in the urban and rural population, as well as ecological research in the whole area. The preliminar resutls of hte model are presented, i.e. the interaction between a group of fishermen, an ecological committee (recently created), the community woodcutters, the Municipal Ecology Department and the Rural Brigade, as the firsts experiencies in the sustainable development field. In the other hand an attempt for an ecologicla inventory in both ecosystems (requested for legal protection) was made; the results were used as a tool for an environmetnal education program follow by a discussion about the importance of ecosystems as an internal parameter of the economics in the municipality, and thus define some richness of natural resources for it, and finally an analysis of how to make good use of such resources inside certain limits of ecological conservation.
