摘要

Critical grit size effect in chromium carbide cermet under the condition of two-body abrasion was investigated. Unlikely a constant value for the critical size, a finding was obtained, that is, the larger the hardness of the materials used, the greater the critical size will be. A satisfactory explanation for the finding was made by means of the analysis with the G-W model, and a conjecture can be given that the critical grit size should be variables rather than constants as long as the presence of the difference in average width of wear track for any worn materials.
