The phenomena of secondary nucleation of lead sulfate crystal in double jet crystallizer

摘要

Precipitation of lead sulfate was studied by reaction between lead nitrate and sodium sulfate solution, and change of crystal size and size distribution were observed. In this study, secondary nucleation took place and the minimum size of mother crystal for secondary nucleation was observed and correlated with apparent supersaturation, expressed by the ratio feed rate of lead and sulfate ion to the total surface area of suspended crystal of lead sulfate. And average crystal growth rate for porduction of lead sulfate was discussed on an assumed operational condition.
