摘要

The morphology (shape, texture, color, thickness) of wear particles transported by the lubricant from wear sites is examined to carry with important information of wear characteristics. Recent developments that relate the quantitative morphological parameters of wear particles mainly describe the shape features of wear particles. After studying chromaticity knowledge, this paper develops several quantitative parameters to describe the color features of wear particles based on true color image preprocessing. These color parameters allow us to distinguish automatically and better between different wear particles.
