Temperature characteristics of the boundary lubricating film of organo-compound

In this paper, the relationship between temperature and lubricating properties of an kind organo-copper compound as lubricating additives has been studied on steel- steel rubbing pairs. The results show that organo-copper compound can significantly reduce the wear and friction of the steel balls under tested temperature. Organo-copper compound additive can also improve mineral oil's temperature characteristics, such as the friction critical temperature raised from 50°C to 220°C and the wear critical temperature raised from 110°C to 290°C. The new ideal of the using critical temperature has been put forward for the first time. Such parameter is essential for the tribological design.
