Film models published up to now are characterized by static spectral sensitivities and a three-dimensional linear description of chemical development effects ([5]-[10]). Based on the theory of the photographic process a new film model is introduced that separates hotographic layers into so-called micro alyers. This micro layer model considers dynamic sensitivities and three-dimensional non-linear interimage effects. In order to determine the model parameters the film material is exposed with especially defined spectral test colors by means of a self-developed, multispectral film exposer and suitable analyzed after photographic processing. The method is demonstrated, as an example, for the AGFA RS100Professional color reversal film. In contrast to conventional film models the new model structure characterizes the reaction of the observed film for any spectra with an accuracy close to the reproducibility of photographic processing.
