Characterization of still images from a progressive scan HDTV camera

摘要

This paper describes the objective characterization with regard to tone reproduction, color reproduction, spatial frequency response, and signal to noise ratio of still images from an HDTV camera. The objective results indicate that individal frames from the video stream carry data sufficient to produce still images of quality commensurate to top quality digital still cameras of similar resolution. Prints of test images provide subjective confirmation of the results.
