As the project of European Norm EN 12354 [1], we would like to estimate the acoustic performance from the performance of products. This norm describes basic formulae for the calculus of the reduction of impact sound pressure levelΔL. It calls onthe dynamic stiffness per unit area s'{sub}t of an elastic layer according to EN 29052.1 [2]. But this one is limited to heavy floating floors. So, in order to characterise the amelioration ofΔL obtained with resilient materials used under lightfloor-covering, we have worked out a measurement technique of the apparent dynamic stiffness, fitted to two applications (under tiles and parquet). At the same time, we have developed a model which calls on the characteristics of the standard tappingmachine.
