摘要

Cast iron has been produced by extended arc plasma smelting of iron ore fines by carbothermic reduction. Nodularization of graphite in the cast iron has been achieved by use of zirconia. Content of Zr in the nodular cast iron was varied to study the optimum level of Zr required for achieving good quality nodularization. Mechanical and physical properties of the cast iron fulfills nodular quality.
