The model for predicting of reaction efficiences R_e of polymeric materials consisting of C, H, O and N atoms, in their interaction with fast (5 eV) atomic oxygen is proposed. The model is based on the analysis of literature data on R_e values for various organic polymeric materials. These R_e values were measured both in LEO conditions in flight experiments and in laboratory conditions on facilities for simulation of LliO conditions. On the basis of R_e data estimates were obtained showing that the probability of chemical reaction in the course of interaction of fast oxygen atom with polymer surface is equal to 0.2-0.3, if we assume that the only carbon-containing volatile product is CO, or 0.3-0.5 - in the case of CO_2 being the single product respectively. This result can be used for predicting R_e value for particular polymeric material on the basis of its chemical formula.
