Cortical receptive fields (RFs) are dynamic, both on long and short time scales; reviewed by [10]. Long-term reorganization is associated with amputation [11], behavioral training [9] and has been the subject of several modelling studies [7,12,13] based on competitive Hebbian learning. Short-term reorganization, on the other hand, has received less theoretical attention.
