Some configuratios of antenna or transmission line system may be modeled by cascaded transmission line sections loaded capacitively at junction. The total number of sections may be large, while the number of different sections is often reduced to three or two. A generalized equivalent circuit of such periodic structures is shown in Fig.1, where Y_0, Y_1, Y_2 and tau_0, tau_1, tau_2 are the characteristic admittances and total signal delays of two the same external and n internal transmission line sections of two different kinds accordingly, while C_d is value of equivalent lumped capacitances of discontinuities. For investigation o fhigh-speed electromagnetic signals propagation in the structures a transient analysis using Laplace transform was proposed by Gu and Kong (1). Particularly, they presented an analytical expression for transmitted signal accunting compo9nents generated through two reflections only, assuming a sufficient accuracy of the expression when the magnitudes of the reflection coefficients are not very large.
