Decomposition of electromagnetic fields in TE and TM partial fields, well known for fields in isotropic and uniaxially anisotropic media (1)-(3) have been recently extended bo certain uniaxial bi-anisotropic media (4) by considering linear combinations of electric and magnetic fields as the basis of decompostiion. This theory is noe generalized to cover all bi-anisotropic media (5). Conditions for the four medium parameter dyadics are derived for the decomposition to be possible.
