An image-source method for modelling sound in arbitrary enclosed spaces

The recent advances in computer technology have allowed computer models to represent with increasing accuracy the acoustics of enclosed spaces, including performance spaces, industrial halls, atria and open-plan offices. To predict sound levels in these spaces there are two basic types of mathematical model both of which are based on geometrical acoustics: the ray-tracing and the image-source method.
