CONZEPT OF A MODULAR DEGRADABLE TRAINSIDE LOCALIZATION MODUL

Like industrial information and automation systems, the technical structure of modern railway systems becomes more difficult as the systems and their components get more and more complex, and the degree of automation is always increasing. In the project "RailOrt", a localization module for use in complex train environment is designed. It is regarded as a key technique for all other functionalities of railway operation systems. This paper deals with the concept of a modular degradable train localization module using the function components route atlas, coverage of spatial distances and coverage of the track. It is able to operate without or less trackside infrastructure in all fields of application. The entire stretch from the beginning of the specification process to a functional system architecture as well as basic possibilities of a proof of safety and first steps towards an implementation will be discussed.
