A POSSIBLE LMC HALO CONTRIBUTION TOMICROLENSING

We discuss the possibility that some of the microlensing events found by theMACHO collaboration towards the LMC might be due to lenses located in theLMC halo, rather then in the halo of the Milky Way. Indeed, the dark matterfraction in form of MACHOs of both Milky Way and LMC halos need not tobe the same. For a MACHO mass in the range 0.1-0.3 M_⊙, the LMC halofraction can be larger than the Milky Way one.
