摘要

AE (acoustic emission) refers to the elastic wave which is sent out when strain energy stored in material interior is released rapidly. Rock like metal also can show Kaiser effect. Since Kanagawa put forward the method for rock stress measurement based on the Kaiser effect of rock AE in 1970s, more and more attention was paid to it. The Kanagawa's method holds that the Kaiser effect of rock shows orientation and that the stress obtained by means of Kaiser effect of AE is historically maximum one. The point of kaiser effect in kanagawa's method is determined according to the first remarkable steep increase point of response curver slope for total AE counts versus applied stress, and correspondent applied stress is considered as preexisting normal stress of oriented specimen.
