The HS produced in the metasomatic process can be called metasomatic HS. The ini-waters may be meteoric or marine waters poor or free in ore-forming metals, which were extracted from rocks and accumulated into water progressively in the process of water-rock interaction. The characteristics of metasomatic HDs can be summarized as follows: (a) Surrounding the orebody there are negative halos of the ore-forming metals; (b) The δ~(18)O and δD values of HW are characterized as surface waters (meteoric or marine); (c) The presence of anomaly halo, especially negative halo of δ~(18)O in the wallrocks; (d) The δ~(18)O values are close related to latitude and elevation of the deposits; (e) The common calc-rich characteristics of HS; (f) The distribution of HDs controlled by the water-bearing capasity and permeability of rocks.
