We report on the study of the dijet production in neutral-current deep-inelastic scattering at the HERA ep collider. Jets are identified with the JADE and Cone algorithms and are compared to next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations. We give an overview on the experimental determination of the running strong coupling constant as(Q) using jet rates. We discuss two methods on extracting the gluon density in the proton from dijet-events. The first preliminary results are presented.
